Top 5 Game Series We Love

There are many great game series made in the industry but on this blog post we share a 5 game list on our personal favourites and why we find them pretty amazing. Most of them are targeted towards PC but that does not mean we have anything against consoles, we just are PC gamers. Civilization Civilization is a turn-based strategy game series developed by MicroProse and later by Firaxis. It's first game came out in 1991. The last game in the series is "Civlization VI" with it's expansion "Civlization VI: Rise and Fall" out since February 8th, 2018 and it's next expansion "Civilization VI: Gathering Storm" announced in November 20th, 2018. Why do we love it: Civilization games give you an opportunity to make your own country and interact with other countries. As they usually possess historical and legendary leaders from the real life, you can kind-of capture a similar feeling of being one of them. You can re-live historical events, live out alternate outcomes and make your own fictional history of the world. You can end up with tens of playtime hours and not even notice it. Each game session brings a whole new story with new beginnings, resources and potentional relatationships between you and other nations. These games make you think and delivers a promise of uncertain but epic story in each game session. Tekken Tekken, "The King of the Iron Fist Tournament" is a fighting game series developed by Namco and later by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It's first game came out in 1991 as well, but the last one, Tekken 7 came out on arcade in 2015 but on other platforms in 2017 with its last 2 DLC's released on December 3rd, 2018. Why do we love it: Its long history has allowed the game series to grow and improve. While it's story and characters are already historical and iconic, it's gameplay mechanics and their level of detail is one of the reasons why the game is such a great experience. It's quite easy to learn but highly hard to master - the golden formula of video games. Half-Life Half-Life is a first-person shooter game series made by Valve. Its first game came out in 1998, which was also Valve's first product. Its last game "Half-Life 2: Episode Two" was released in 2007. Another game, "Half-Life 2: Episode Three" was announced to be released on the same year but has not been either released or cancelled. Also "Half-Life 3" has been a source of large amount of jokes, internet memes and hype. Why do we love it: These are games which focuses on quality. Even though its last release is more than 11 years old, it is fun to play and delivers amazing game experience. The Elder Scrolls The Elder Scrolls or TES for short is a role-playing game series made by Bethseda Softworks. It's first game, "The Elder Scrolls: Arena" came out in 1994. Its last biggest releases are the legendary game "TES V: Skyrim" and an online game called "The Elder Scrolls Online". A promising mobile game called "TES: Blades" is expected to be released some time early in 2019. Another game, "TES VI" was announced in 2018 as well but does not have a release date yet. Why do we love it: The core idea of the game is a first-person RPG in a large world filled with adventures, where you are allowed to be whoever you wish to be. Be it an evil wizard, a knight in shining armour or, let's say, a hunter who can heal people and steals from the rich. Great execution of this sense of freedom and another world to explore is what makes these games excellent. Grand Theft Auto Grand Theft Auto or GTA for short is an action-adventure video game series with its games mostly developed by Rockstar North (formerly DMA Design) and published by Rockstar Games. The first game came out in 1997 but the last so far called "GTA: V" in 2013. No future games in the series has been announced yet but due to their extremely high popularity it is unlikely that there won't be a "GTA: VI" game. Why do we love it: One of if not the very first of it's kind, an open-world game in a city (or several cities) where the core mechanic is to steal cars and drive them (hence the game title). You can race, shoot, fight and attend places in city like barbershops and car services. You can run from police with fire trucks, helicopters and motorcycles. It's fun to do things which you can't (or rather wouldn't) do in real life. These games also have interesting stories of the main characters trying to rise above in the world of crime, often motivated by an unfortunate event. Conclusion These are 5 game series we really love and are excited about. Hopefully you enjoyed this article and have learned something new. What are your favourite game series and why?
